The frozen vegetable company Westfro NV in Staden needs about 3 million liters of drinking water a day at peak times, an Olympic-sized swimming pool. Now the Ekopak installation purifies 25,000 liters per hour and they only need a fraction. This is more specifically a WaaS installation (water-as-a-service).
“With this installation, we can actually reuse our water to the maximum. Our own waste water is converted back into drinking water. We need that water to wash and blanch our vegetables,” says Frederik Debeuckelaere of Westro.
